since you're running dual channel, you're going to want to double the slots, so you'll have to go 4gb, and just take the hit since you're running a 32bit OS.

XP will recognize more than 3.25 if you have the 64bit version.

71chevellejohn XP will only recognize 3.25GB, so if you put in four, that is what your PC will be able to see and use. It made a noticeable difference in my M1710 XPS - well worth the $$ to me

Upgrading RAM

How much would i actually notice upgrading my ram to 2 gigs or to 4 gigs it currently has 1 gig. the computer is a dell dimension 4700 with a Pentium 4 processor running at 3.00 ghz its running windows xp sp2
