Lucky for me when I got back last night, I was having the same results on the same server (I still use speakeasy.net). Torrents show it and my FTP upload speeds are much better. FIOS internet rocks - even if it stayed at 2.5 up. Just wish their TV/DVR stuff was better. I see what you mean on the speedtest.net site though. Take care, |

![]() Take care, Also, regarding the upstream bandwidth not being up to spec; I now have the FIOS 20/5 plan. And when I do a bandwidth test on a PC hooked up to the router via Ethernet cable it usually hits right at or above 20/5 consistently. However, when I use my wireless laptop from across the house the upload usually max's out around 2 - 2.5 Mbps upload. My upload bandwidth drops off significantly over wireless with a minimal distance. That's actually very normal in your average house hold with just one wireless access point. Also, you should try testing your bandwidth at other sites other than speedtest. Sometimes your results are sub par because of high traffic loads on their servers. PC Pitstop has a good testing site and also allows you to choose a server closer to your location. http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/bw.asp Last Result: Download Speed: 20571 kbps (2571.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 4528 kbps (566 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 51 ms |

After getting transferred and hung up on numerous times, I finally get a hold of Eddie, a Dallas supervisor. He gets me the 20/5 and the same HD channels I have now for $79.99 vs. the ~$99.99 I pay now. So, since I am saving so much money, I added the sports package and got the Media Manager, so I am essentially paying what I was before I had that stuff and had the 15/2 internet service. This worked pretty well for me. Only problem is I was paying for 15/2 before, but actually getting 15/4. After this upgrade I should be getting 20/5, but I'm getting 20/2.5. Ah well. Take care, |

Services change and get better/cheaper after time, so the longer you stay with them, the less you recieve in service, and actually pay more. Existing customers always get the shaft! |

Just got kicked up from 5-2 to 20-5 at no additional cost. Also added a 'distinctive ring' for no additional. Seems that the trick is to work with the rep and agree to take a trial offer or two. You'll have to call and cancel it later but in so doing you helped your rep to hit his/her numbers... ![]() |

Online Upload tests are never accurate, I have a 20/20 connection and my upload results are similar to yours. I can however, upload stuff to my server at 20Mbit though and seed out torrents at that speed. |

Well, here is the end result of all of my phone calls. It looks like they gave me 20/2 instead of the 20/5, but I'm still very pleased considering I was on 5/2. Not a bad bump in bandwidth for free. Takes me 40 seconds to download a 100 megabyte file. I've come a long way from a 56K modem. ![]() http://www.bandwidth.com/tools/speedTest/ ![]() |
