Chopped54 They re-write the ESN to just clear the previous balance, and or make a stolen phone no longer stolen and now able to be activated...

But what if the account has switched to a different phone with a different ESN? Shouldn't that ESN be "dead" now and not linked to the account?

cell phone ESN #

I'm selling my wife's old phone on ebay and got a question from somebody that wants to know the ESN # on the phone so they can check with verizon to see if its able to be activated.

Is it OK to give out the ESN# on cell phones? I didnt know if thats something u want to keep secret because of all the scam artists out there or if its no big deal. TIA
