back when I was in grade school they would wheel in those school style black and white TVs and we watched that stuff live right in the classroom.

I agree, i've been watching those shows and IMO the USA no longer has "the right stuff" to do something of that magnitude ever again. The best we seem to be able to do today is to build toll roads and try to sell them to foreign companies.

fitzwell Yep...cool stuff. I remember how cool it seemed to watch it all on a black & white tv. Sucks, but i doubt if a project of that magnitude could be pulled off today

12SecondT-Bird C,mon Danny, you know all that was fake. It was staged in Hollywood somewhere, we never went to the moon.

I can't believe the number of times I heard that from some black guys I use to work with at the time.

Anyone watching "When We Left Earth" on Discovery?

Just a really kick-ass high-def presentation of all the early Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions that culminated with a man on the moon. They show a lot of the footage, including broadcast television (with commercials - the landing on the moon was brought to us by Kellogg's, lol!) and interview the surviving astronauts.

I've been DVRing them and watching them, they are awesome!
