Stang2be You wont be able to do this with OEM PC/board like Dell, Gateway, HP, etc.

My fry's bundle oc's nicely too

Sempron 3100 that runs 2.25ghz with stock cooling and paid 79 for the board and cpu.

Makes a great testing pc.

sloestang Go to BIOS and adjust your frequency/voltage control.
Make small incremental changes. I went up 2 points at a time. Keep going until it won't boot or you get blue screen of death. Then clear your CMOS and back your number down 2 points and try it again.

how do you manually adjust the processor speed? i've got an amd 3800, 1g ram

Newbie figures out OC'ing.

Been wanting to try it, just never did. Well, I did it today. Started out with a cheapo Fry's bundle comp. AMD Sempron 2200. I added 2 sticks of 512mb. 120 gig HD. It was running 1400 mHz at 45 celsius. Clocking 2102 mHz now at 48 celsius and 50c under stress load. Whoo hoo. I think I am gonna keep pushing it till the processor fries. If it dies, oh well, I got another one upstairs exactly like it minus the memory and HD.
