Go get a copy of muscle/fitness or flex mags they have really good articles on how to target specific body parts and tell/show you how to use correct form. They are good at instructing you on specific goals. Like everyone said start really slow and always use proper form. Just my 2 cents.

Okay worked out last night, now I am sore lol, also ran today. It's funny how much more energy I have. I hear over time your brain produces some chemical when you work out, so some people become addicted to working out. You get a high from it? I never did just pain
Btw does any of that stuff @ GNC work? you know that body builder stuff.

I was going to say the same, compound movements to start out and I'd go with lighter weight. Something like 3-4 sets of 10 - 15 reps or so.
When I started back (I'm 34) I did't join a gym or buy a bench and all that, I had a friend that gave me an EZ curl bar and 50lbs of weight and I did pushups, dips between chairs with feet proped on a third chair, pullups, crunches, then used the weights to do curls, military press, bent rowing, skull crushers. I did that for several months and lost around 18 lbs, then I got me some home equipment and a partner to come over and work with me for some heavy lifting.
Look at your diet too and also get you some cario started to go with the other exercises.

|Big A||Until you get your body accustomed to moving the weights, stick to mainly the compound movements like squats, bench press, military press, and rows. Keep it light enough to do perfect for for 12 reps or so, and as you body acclimates toss in some simple movements like flyes, curls, kick backs, etc.|

I feel like I am beating a dead horse here but this site helped me alot. I didn't have a clue what combinations of shit to do each day and on a weekly basis so I went along with one of the plans offered here for a while until I figured out what is best for me.

Workout schedule for the beginner?
Okay I just turned 36 I know I'm fucking old and losing my hair so I figured I need to hit the weights again. I was in athletics back in the day(highschool lol).
My goals are to lose 20lbs(I'm at 195-200) 5'10. I just want to look good naked so what kind of workout should I do? reps, how many times per week and for how long? I will be shaving my head once I have a better body lol.
ALP or ne1 else please chime in.
