Ok just bought a new house. Have a fairly good size back yard.
First I need to get rid of this ugly ass green grass stuff. Any ideas what it is or how to get rid of it?
Second what are some good ideas I could do with this space? I think i want to extend the patio area but am not sure how to incorporate the whole yard and make it look nice.
Hard to tell in the pic but it almost looks like st augustine that got some serious brown patch or new sod that was not watered enough or watered too much during cool weather that got brown patch.
Or is it just wild grass ?
You can rent a grass cutter that will scrape all the sod up and allow you to replant some nice grass if it is trash grass.
Last time I bought st augustine you could get a pallet that covers 400 sq ft for about $100 -120. Measure up your square feet and call some different places for prices delivered.
whatever that "grass" is it comes up in winter, and it's dammed hard to kill. Fortunately, its easy to pull. I always get some of it in my yard. Treating with pre-emergent in the fall seems to take care of most of it.
Sounds like the grass you are speaking of is annual blue grass, all I can say is pull it before it seeds or you will be spraying MSMA on it this spring. Get a close up pic of the grass
Ill see about getting some better pics of it tomm.
My wife and I spent a few hours out there pulling them up. With a shovel we would hit the roots...then yank it up with the roots and all. hopefully that will prevent them from returning.
But damn theres alot of them. seems like we didnt even make a dent in them and filled a whole trash bag
To get rid of the green grass I'd hire a landscaping company that does turf installation in your area. I got lucky when I ordered roof cleaning Seattle services because they referred me to a turf installation pro who worked for himself and gave me a great deal. Hope that helps!
Yes. You can call your local dumpster rental company and they will suggest you of some who can tidy up your backyard. Who knows, they might even provide the service by themselves.
Yes, I agree. They grow so fast and look so dirty. I suggest you to hire a professional and clean it up. And if you have enough budget, why not plan pool, pool decks and a patio? I mean, after all that's a large backyard in there!
Well, that depend where is that land located. If it was up to me I would go with the nice deck and the pool. If you plan to build a house with the basement in Brooklyn, make sure you follow Brooklyn basement waterproofing guidelines and standards.
I think you could totally lay some foundation and build a little BBQ place with it's own little roof and all! I did something like that in my backyard and invited my friends from the best mobile car detailing in Mesa, Arizona
