TV Nerds, Question????

I have a Sharp Aquios TV 42 inch, and I have component cables for it. Well, I was told to buy a HDMI cable, and so I did, and the picture looks worse. I plugged the wire into INPUT 5 on the TV, and I plugged into the cable box. Is there anything else I have to do, ie. Settings on TV????
( And I did switch the TV to INPUT 5)

You will need to tell your cable box to display in 1080i or 720p instead of 480p/i. You should be able to find these in your display settings somewhere.
