Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage

Anyone get to watch this documentary on Rush? It came out on the Palladium channel a few months back, so I recorded. Great documentary on where they came from and what they are about. I had no idea Neal Peart went on a motorcycle ride from canada down to beliz after his wife and daughter died.

They may be the dorkiest hard rocking band of all time.

Excellent documentary, I've watched it a couple of times.

Peart's book "Ghost Rider" is also an excellent read, it's basically a narrative diary of the motorcycle trip he took after the deaths of his daughter and wife. Compelling and heartbreaking stuff.

My favorite band of all time, but I have yet to see it. I know almost every aspect of their history, so it's just not been too high on my list.

I've seen it on the channel guide but just figured it was a concert, and I'm not big on watching concerts on TV. I might have to check it out if it's on at night when I can't find anything else to watch. Not a huge Rush fan, but admit they are an insanely talented group.

Palladia is a badass channel. I'm not a huge fan of watching concerts on TV either, but they show some damn good shows on there. If I'm cleaning the house, I usually crank it up while cleaning. It helps to have a solid sound system/home theatre though.

The interviews with Lifeson, Peart and Lee and associated individuals are what really make it compelling. Lots of other musicians are interviewed to give their input as well which is really interesting.

Well worth the time if you are even a moderate Rush fan.
