High crime, no real residential base. Much better theaters elsewhere.

It's hard to stay in business if people don't go.

LOL

Most memorable time there saw Howard Stern's Private Parts there for a special viewing before the movie aired.

Good times.

Man I remember reading about this earlier in the year but forgot about it. Can't remember the last movie I saw there, might have been The Hangover. Shame that it's gone and now I've gotta find another theater to go to. My last regular theater was the one by Cityplace but they closed and tore that place down a while back. Used to work across the street and loved going to that theater after work

Not surprised at all. High crime, loitering, and cruising is a sure way to deter customers. Went there one time in '97 for the re-release of Star Wars and it was sketchy then.

I went there a few times and got tired of the South Dallas shit bags talking during the show, answering their phones and offering advice to the actors on the screen.

Pretty much this. Scumbag, lowlife audiences.

I hate going to most movie theatres due to pieces of shit in the audience, grates on my nerves, but The Grand stood out in that area. I miss the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin.

Try the drive in movies there nice. It great to watch them out side bring chairs and kick back.
