More hollywood originality - Top Gun sequel

http://www.imdb.com/news/ni4916457/

Tom Cruise is reportedly flying back to the big screen in a sequel to 1986 classic Top Gun.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer hinted last year that he was working on a follow-up to a hugely popular "aviation" movie, sparking rumours the hit film would be revived for a new generation of cinema-goers.

Bosses at Paramount Pictures have now kick-started work on the sequel, by hiring original director Tony Scott and the film's star Cruise, according to NYmag.com's Vulture blog.

The website reports the Hollywood actor will reprise his role as pilot Maverick but will play a smaller part in the follow-up, which will be penned by Oscar-winning The Usual Suspects screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie.

Oh boy this sounds like it will be great. Jerry Bruckheimer really makes some fucking garbage.

You got to be shitting me.

Blackhawk down was directed by Ridley Scott. That was the only thing that saved it. They didn't even get the fucking story right.

Besides that, every other movie on that list that is made in the last 10 years is fucking garbage.

Your sarcasm meter is fucked, other than my nostalgic regard for Beverly Hills cop and the sentimentality of Top Gun being the first movie my Dad ever took me to, Bruckheimer leaves alot to be desired. The inundation of prime time TV with 30 versions of CSI each worse than the last is enough to run away from anything this guy does(though his feature film releases have made something like 13 billion dollars WTF)

I stand by my like for Con Air though, I got to watch it while waiting for a bus to leave Sand Hill to Airborne school.

The CSI Franchise is a joke. Seriously some of the most predictable crap ever.

Out of the list of movies I enjoyed Armageddon, Top Gun, Pirates..., Prince of Persia, and the first National Treasure. Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't consider any of those movies "good", just entertaining. Now I loved Top Gun when I was growing up, but keep in mind I was like 6 years old and fascinated with airplanes.

The most disappointing thing about this movie is that all the dog-fighting will be C.G. instead of real planes zipping through the air.

I'm surprised Oliver Stone isn't directing it and putting a political spin on the Iraq War.
