Anybody heard anything about this movie before? apparently it was shown at SXSW this year and has an October release date...

Quote:
Six years ago previously, a NASA probe returning to earth with samples of an alien life form, crashed over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear, and half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures"... The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

Watched it last night. It's pretty good. The movie is definitely more focused on the two characters making their way through the infected zone back to America rather than on the conflict between the aliens and humans. The environment is awesome. Apparently a lot of the destruction and anomolies throughout the movie are results of storms and other things. Also, the budget for the film is only supposed to have been around $15,000. Shot with a normal video camera and all of the extras that are in the movie are mexican residents that lived in the area that they were filming, instead of using actual paid actors.

The movie itself is I'd say a 3.5/5. Considering the very limited budget and the way they went about filming it I'd give it a 4.5 and this movie should be an inspiration to any aspiring movie directors.

Did you watch it on Pay Per View or what? Might see if I can download it somewhere. Saw it on some online commercial that it's available through iTunes and PPV.

Yeah, I watched it through Zune videos on my Xbox. Fucking rental was $10.00. For Standard Definition. I think HD was $15.00.
