Easy Rider

I watched this tonight. What a trippy movie. I knew the movie was going to be weird with all the drug influences from the time, but definitely a weird directing job by Dennis Hopper.

I get the metaphors I guess, but why the hell did it end the way it did? It was just so abrupt, and seemed to be rushed.

It was a commentary on the times, and how the counterculture was experiencing resistance from all sides by the status quo. Great film.

This is what I had to keep telling myself as I watched the movie. You almost have to put yourself into that time period to understand what it was all about. I wonder how well it will hold up in another 40 years.

Yea, it did get you thinking. It was just a sudden end with no climax really. A completely different type of movie than what they make nowadays.

Most movies today have to have a clear climax with a subsequent ending to satisfy peoples preference. It was a refreshing change.

Watch Two Lane Blacktop. Similar style, only with cars instead of motorcycles.
