They throw mud back and forth why, but really it comes down to money and ego. Paul Sr had this company for years before they got big, but as soon as Paul Jr started making the theme bikes they took off. He also created their lines of production bikes, but Paul Sr took the credit and apparently the money too. Jr owns a small percentage of the company and suspected Sr wasn't being honest about earnings so Jr brought in a whole team of lawyers and accountants to investigate and fund some mis-doings. They haven't spoken since.

Damn, I couldn't do my son like that. I'm not saying Jr is innocent, but the only reason the business got as big as it did was because of Jr's bikes. Sr's bikes are boring dentist bikes.

Give me a dollar.

I used to love that show when they were a small operation. It seemed that SR got too big for the show and he forgot where and or how he started.

Show was good when it first came out. I haven't seen it in years though. I understand both sides of the feud, but in the end, they will both fail. They both helped each other with aspects of the business they weren't very good at. Sr sucks at designing, and Jr sucks at running a shop. It will be interesting when both business eventually fail and they are living with the Grandmother. Oh yea, did Mikey go to jail or something?

They were on with Donny Deutsch one night couple years ago .

Jr said then, that JUST the t-shirt sales did 120 million a year

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donny_Deutsch

So, you can guess on how all the other things added to the revenue .

The corporate bike builds did cost 1 million , not sure if any of those numbers are inline today .

When something becomes your own, you work very fast on your weak points and they end up becoming strong points.

I think junior will be OK if he puts the right people in there. I think Sr. just has too much ego to ask for help.

I can't believe people still watch this crap. It seemed scripted seven years ago. I can't imagine how unbearable it is now.

I never thought it was scripted. At least the first one or two seasons I watched. I did think the bikes were a little gimicky, but that is what JR was going for.

I always thought the theme bikes were abit silly, but their production bikes don't seem to be too bad other than being really expensive. But the theme bikes being a million dollars is downright absurd.

i imagine they "sell" the themed bikes as pretty much an hour long commercial for what ever company they were designed for. Im not a salesman, but thats how i would pitch it.

god bless.

That, and it's a permanent advertisement piece for the company they build them for. They take them to trade shows, use them on marketing pieces, etc. And from a business standpoint, it's a write off on taxes. Businesses LOVE tax write offs.

It's really not a bad deal for either party. OCC gets the publicity, the company gets the publicity, and they have something that is guaranteed to turn heads every time they put it out there.

Granted, they are ugly, but they grab people's attention and in marketing, that's the end result you are looking for. Kinda like businesses using a fucked up spelling for their name. Or the companies that put out annoying ass commercials. Sure, it's strange and annoying, but people remember them.
