Buddy Guy-HOB 12/7

Just got in town tonight to see the show tomorrow. I've seen him once before and he put on a hell of a show, so I'm pretty excited. He's playing at the House of Blues which should be a pretty good venue for one of his shows.

Anyone else going to be there?

I didn't even know he was playing, or I would be there already. He by far puts on the best blues show going. I've seen him 5 times.

Give me a dollar.

It was the best show I've ever seen, no doubt it my mind. I saw him at Crossroads Guitar Festival a few years back and he was good, no doubt, but it was a completely different experience when it was just him.

Consider my mind blown.

HAHAHAHA! I first saw him live at Bluesfest 2000, at Smirnoff. He was getting to the end of an amazing set, and he said, "They tellin' me I got time for one more song, but BB's up next, and he's old. I'm gonna give hime more time to rest." He played 5 more songs, and came out for an encore with Susan Tedeschi at the end of BB King's set. I was hooked.
My stepdad tells a great story about seeing him at a club in Houston, and apparently he and Freddie King were playing across the street from each other that night. He walked across the street during his intermission to play in Freddie's set, and Freddie did the same. After the show, they met in the middle to sign autographs for both crowd. Now you know why John Mayer got so much better on his second album: he was following Buddy around and learning some fucking showmanship.

Give me a dollar.

Btw

You should go get this album: http://www.amazon.com/Drinkin-TNT-n-...8980063&sr=8-1
It's Buddy and Junior Wells playing live at the 1974 Montreaux Jazz Festival with a great backing band.

Give me a dollar.

I really need to be studying right now. The last thing I needed was to hear the name 'Buddy Guy' coupled with the word 'Montreaux'.
