I ran into Vinne @ a gas station Saturday night here in way north Arlington. Him (and some guys I didn't recognize) were in their limo (that had a blue Dimebag sticker on the back)... just grabbin' some beer and probably headed to the titty bars down the street.

Anyway...

I met Darrell walking to my car at the Parks mall in 1999. He was real cool and acted like we had been buds forever. A super nice guy that just wanted to have a good time all the time. I'm a huge Pantera fan and was all through my youth. A band comes around every once in a while that kicks everyone in the nuts. That describes Pantera. Great thread!!

Yeah I lived about a block away from him, I met both Vinny and Daryl at a local hardware store buying fence for their dog pen.

My friend from tech school and eventual rommate was always hanging out with a bunch of metal heads, including all the Pantera guys, back in 1986 or whenever they all lived in Pantego... I didn't even know who they were at the time....if anyone knows that fruitloop Jerry Warden and the Warlock guys, they were all hanging around there too... oh, and Gammacide, and Rotting Corpse...

I think they always used to play at Savvy's, Joe's Garage, and a few places around Arlington back then.

Didn't Gammacide start out as warlock?

Well, I think the only common member was maybe the guitarist and bass player. The drummer from Warlock was another friend of mine from Tech school named Les, and the drummer from Gammacide was named Jamie. Both of them pretty badd ass drummers. Jerry Warden didn't sing for Gammacide. I think he formed his own band... "Warden" lol.

By the way, I heard he is in prison now for something...
