Drew Carey on TPIR

When I was a kid, I used to love The Price is Right. Bob Barker was the King, great games, honeys, sometimes good prizes, spin the wheel, showcase showdown, etc. What's not to love? So last night I'm flipping through the channels and I see TPIR so I decide to check it out. HD makes it look chessier than ever. Lo-def FTW. Drew Carey is no Bob Barker. He looks less than enthused to be there and does not "sell" any part of the show. His game instructions to contestants are weak. He does not run the game with any authority or kindof guide the contestant like Bob did. Very disappointing to watch except for the contestants Megan and Lindsay. Smokin'. Plus now Lindsay has a C6 vette.
The TPIR is a shell of it's former greatness. You are missed Bob Barker.

Bob's role in Happy Gilmore is pure genius too!

Ya, Drew is really sucking it up. He seems like he is just going through the motions and doesn't want to be there. I'm disappointed. They have upped the ante on the prizes though. I've seen a couple of contestants win both showcases, several cars, and a million bucks on top of that.

In Drew Careys defense, Bob Barker did that, and only that, every Monday-Friday for like a hundred years. I'm sure Drew will get better.

No one will ever do what Bob did. They should have ended the show when he left. I haven't seen it since Drew started hosting and I don't want to. I like Drew, but I know it won't be what it was, so why ruin the memory. I did, however, catch an interview on Drew on CNBC the other night that I found interesting.

Couldn't agree more EW - Drew C. was just a really strange choice for a host and don't see him ever changing it up enough to be a worthy Barker replacement. ( I would've liked to see David Lee Roth given a shot at the job...)

Another x2 agreement on those hot little contestants last night - especially the Vette winner - she was a freakin game show contestant fer christ sake and I'm sitting there totally infatuated! It was pathetic! The other girl was nice too.

But regardless, that show is still fun to watch, and the bigger nighttime prize packages like Vettes and 3 Minis etc make it interesting. Plus the current crop of Barker girls look like straight up porn stars. Love it.

It's like he's not even trying. At first, I figured he was just going for the dry humor angle, but then there just wasn't any humor at all.
