Best concert you've been to?

We have the worst now list the best:

One of my favs was Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, and Green Day at Smirnoff years ago. Everybody was fuckin great live, but Green Day was a standout. I'm not a huge Green Day fan but they rocked. What was great was that during the concert they asked if anyone in the audience played bass, drums, guitar and they picked 3 guys from the crowd and brought them onstage.
Those guys rocked it, they all started playing a green day song while the lead singer sang it. Then the gave those 3 guys guitars and shit. Pretty cool

We went to Project Revolution last summer, that was a lot of fun of what I remember, we started drinking WAY to early. But I do know I was there, because I saw pictures!

And...We went to the Tim McGraw concert last summer and had a blast. And he looked HOT. Didn't drink AS much there, because I wanted to remember every moment of his hottness.

I saw M.C. Hammer in the early 90's. That was pretty cool. I was barely a teen. It was the best concert I ever went to....actually it is the only concert I have ever been to.

Man, I actually went to that show, too. LOL! Jimmy eat world only played for like 20 minutes though, that sucked.

Probably Thursday/Thrice/Coheed At the old Gypsy Ballroom. Me, and Pattymelt went. I remember jumping up, and punching some big dude in the face because he kept slamming into everyone, every band played great that show, too.

I saw David Allan Coe at Coyotes in Louisville KY back in 1994. It was cool being able to watch the concert in a bar while drinking a beer. He also talked his way through the songs, how each one came about etc.

Ministry on their Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste tour. It was loud and wild.

I prefer more mellow sounds these days, saw 3EB at House of Blues, it was a great show.

311 in the summer of 2007. Just stupid, stupid amazing. I really don't have words for it to this day.

Before 311, though, it was Crossroads Guitar Festival. I really wish I had been this age when I had seen it, however. That's actually probably the only reason why it wasn't the best concert I've been too; I just was a hair too young to really appreciate it, although I think I appreciated it a lot more than any other kid would have.

If SRV was still alive, I have no doubt in my mind that that show would be my favorite...it's a goddamned shame.

ZZ Top in Austin, Labor Day, 1974. America, Fleetwood Mac, among others. 80,000+ in 100 degree heat. Take a look inside the "Fandango" LP sleeve, and I'm in there...somewhere. Stuck with me my whole life.

Pink Floyd out at Texas Stadium back in '93. That was my first concert and it was awesome.

After that I would have to go with Pantera when they were touring for Reinventing the Steel. Had backstage passes for that show so we got free food and booze.

By the way Thumper, Ministy's farewell tour come to the Palladium on 4/17. Should be a good show.

Somehow I doubt it's their farewell tour. I'll expect another album from them in 5-7 years.

my memorable live performances in chronological order (because I can't pick a fave or order them from good to best)

Beastie Boys twice

Smashing Pumpkins

Pharcyde

Digable Planets

The Roots

Kool & The Gang

Carlos Santana

Ralph Stanley

Willie Nelson

I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones popping in my head...

I'd say it's a tossup between The Roots and Ralph Stanley for best live performance...

Oh, and I went to Reagge on the Rocks in like 97? bad ass show from start to finish!!

Back in like 2000 my exgirlfriend was given some vouchers to redeem for tickets to a Third eye blind / Wallflowers concert. When we got there they gave us fucking floor seats! That concert was kick ass!

I also enjoyed the Smashing Pumpkins concert. I was 15 and a huge fucking fan of theirs. And believe it or not....the Beach Boys put on a pretty kick ass concert one year at the Arbor Days festival in Euless. God I miss that festival. It was fun to go to with the family.

Edit: Oh and Aerosmith was also pretty kick ass.

Pantera, White Zombie, and Deftones in St. Louis in 1996 I believe... and any of the 4 Static-X shows I've been to. I'd also have to put Brian Regan up there too.

Three way tie:

Brian Setzer Orchestra (1993ish)
ZZ Top (2001)
Jimmy Vaughn (2002)

Funny thing is, they all have things in common. All 3 were free, for me anyways , and all three were in downtown Fort Worth. (outside stage/Fort Worth Colliseum/Caravan of dreams). I think the venues all had something to do with why they were so great.
