Question Looking for a Good Baseball Movie

Like I said, I'm looking for a good baseball movie.

The ones I'm really considering are:
Field of Dreams - a classic, and I've read the short story and the book, and they're also great
Tin Cup - not so much a baseball movie, but golf and baseball are kind of similar (striking a little white ball with a bludgeoning weapon), and Costner's character got his nickname while playing baseball
The Rookie - I like the soundtrack, the story, the fact that the guy's from Texas, and the fact that I remember watching his first Major League game (against Texas, at that!) on television
Bad News Bears (the remake) - funny as shit
61* - good stuff, even if they were Yankees
Soul of the Game - I haven't seen this one in a while, but I remember it was pretty good

The ones I've already got:
Major League - greatness, another classic
Major League 2 - decent, but not as good as the original
Major League: Back to the Minors - yeah, I just bought it so I'd have the complete set
The Natural - fuck yeah, close to, if not THE, greatest baseball movie ever (right up there with Field of Dreams)
Bull Durham - another great classic

Movies I can think of but don't really want right now:
Mr. 3000 - eh, okay, I like the message, but I could do better
Mr. Baseball - funny movie, but not great
Little Big League - cute movie, but not it right now
Rookie of the Year - same as above
The Babe - I really liked that movie, but there are others I'd rather have at the moment
Eight Men Out - it's pretty good, but not good enough that I get the urge to pop it in and watch it often; it's on cable every other week anyways
The original Bad News Bears movies - they're okay, but I'll pass right now
Angels in the Outfield - I liked it, but I don't want it right now

Movies I don't care to own:
For Love of the Game - it's an alright movie, but I'm not a fan of the whiny, crybaby bitch/cranky old man pitcher that likes to talk to himself. Whoopty-fucking-do - you just threw a perfect game. Go find you a couple of 19 year-old hookers and celebrate!

Movies I can think of but will never own:
Fever Pitch - yeah, I'd rather a full magazine of 00 buckshot be emptied into my nuts at close range
Summer Catch - if it weren't for Jessica Biel, I wouldn't have watched that movie more than a dozen times

I liked Fever Pitch. Not a fan of the Red Sox, but all in all, I thought it was a good movie. Seen it 3 or 4 times.

"Pride of the Yankee's", the Gary Cooper version. It's the story of Lou Gehrig. True baseball classic.

Yeah, Fever Pitch is awesome. Go watch it with a girl. Kind of a chick flick

You can count The Fan as a pseudo baseball movie, it's not great though.

Long Gone - is a great baseball movie if for no other reason than it has Virginia Madsen in it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cecil "Stud" Cantrell: Kid... let me tell you one of lifes great truths. All girls *fuck*.
Jamie Weeks: Yeah, but this one's real religious...
Cecil "Stud" Cantrell: When I said all girls, I meant *all girls*.

Kinda along the line of Bull Durham only better.

Sandlot= greatness

I thought of that one and The Sandlot (but under "good but not right now") after I made the thread.

I've never seen Long Gone and I haven't seen Pride of the Yankees in a while.

Did you ever see "Cobb" with Tommy Lee Jones? You'd probably like that.

On another note, 61* and Sandlot gets played at my house at least once a week... damn kids!

What was that Charlie Sheen movie from the 80's about the 1919 Chicago Black Sox? 8 Men Out or something. I've never watched it, but want to.

X 2 for Cobb, really an interesting movie but more about crazy Ty than baseball.
You've got most of the best already up on your list.
Have most of The Natural and Bull Durham memorized.
And I always enjoying Quaid in the Rookie.

I went into Hastings (Best Buy was already closed) and could only remember a few of the titles I went looking for.

They didn't have The Rookie, Cobb, Long Gone, Tiger Fever, or The Sandlot, and I forgot about 61*, Soul of the Game, Pride of the Yankees, Bad News Bears, and Tin Cup. I ended up getting Beer League (not a baseball movie, but close enough), Field of Dreams, and Something About Mary, all for $28 and some change.

More votes for Major League and Sandlot. (I know, you've got your list)

They're so good, they can make a baseball-hater like myself want to go dig out the glove and ball and go to the park.
