I only have Sirius so I can't really talk about XM, but Hard Attack is a pretty good station. Plus Buzzsaw is kind of a "classic rock" station, but plays heavier stuff.

My wife has Sirius and it's pretty good, either or would be fine. There's talk about a merger between Sirius & XM..so before too long they both might be the same

I would go with Sirius. Congress has been "reviewing" the XM - Sirius merger for 11+ months now. It may never happen.

Get one of the head units that allows you to pause the music. Most of them will store 44 minutes. It works great when ordering at the drive thru or if you just want to hear a song over again.

another vote for Sirius... Love it... Not sure about XM but Sirius offers a three day free trial to listen online... you could listen on your own and decide which one you like better...

EDIT: Just looked and XM offers a free trail also... sign up and listen.. you'll find the right one...

Another for Sirius! I can't stand to listen to normal radio anymore. I listen to Hard Attack, Howard, and sometimes bubba or Jason Ellis.

I've had both for years on and off, and they offer different tunes...

the 80/90s station on Sirius is MUCH better than XM. The hip hop and music you hear on 100.3 and whatnot are better on XM. Sirius owns in the rock station (Classic Rewind, Hair Nation, Octane, First Wave) depatment, and the dance stations are about even on both... sound quality is about the same on either, but the XM antenna does seem to loose reception a little less, but that could be my installs in different cars as well...

Sirius listener here and I don't care to listen to anything else. Even when the vaunted Eagle came back online, I listed to that crackly, commercial driven shit and turned it right back to Sirius. I do listen to CD's but it's because I buy the new music CD's I hear on Octane ...'H'

Personally, I love my service provider "iPod". It's great! One time fee of about $99, always great reception, and it's exactly what I want to hear. My favorite station has to be "What I want to hear", although "What I want to hear.2" runs a close second. I wouldn't do anything else!

How are all the news and sports channels on that thing? Do you get Howard and BTLS on that thing too?

Mostly I got it for the Sports Channels. I have to work on Sunday's so I rarely get to watch any football games, with Sirius I can listen to them at work.

I've got them both. Pick one.
I haven't been a big fan of Howard Stern since the late 90's. I generally listen to O&A in the mornings.

Sirius has playboy, which is only a painful reminder that I should have gone for a dirty whore. Not sure where the companies are with the merger, but I'm kind of hoping it happens.
