Direct TV for several years. No complaints. When we first got it (98 or so?) we'd lose the signal in heavy rain. That seems to be fixed now - no more rain fade.

Yup, DirecTv all the way! Sunday NFL Ticket was the reason I went with them years ago, no reason to switch now, even if I didn't get the games since I have had no problems with them.

Shit load of HD channels available now too, and adding more by year end.

They've done studies you know.... 60% of the time, it works every time

I prefer Dish because I like their HD lineup better. They also have always had better deals on equipment at the times I've looked into it.

I have no use for NFL Ticket, personally, but if I did, I suppose that would make a big difference.

Dish here. They just rolled out on demand programming via web download and have tons of HD content.

i just got dish. I called the guys that advertise on 105.3 Dishdirect guys. They are running a pretty good deal. Way better than charter I just had. Plus they provided the HD box, DVR, is in it. They install everything. I'm very happy with it. I dont even watch alot of TV. mainly just movies and Cowboys.

Dish since '01. No complaints here. I've got the HD DVR and HD programming. I don't know what I'd do without it.

At this moment its a very simple choice.

You want NFL, you get DirecTV.

You want the best HD and can pass on the NFL, you get Dish Network. However, it should be noted that DirecTV recently added a lot of HD channels and will be adding more before the end of the year.

If neither HD or NFL matter, flip a coin. Both are very good IMO.

I just got DirectTV - I like it...except for I find te fast forward and rewind buttons annoying. It always overshoots the scene I'm looking for. and no, it's not operator error - the lag time is a bitch.

I, too, called the guys who advertise on 105.3

That's what I hate about it. I'll fast fwd speed 4, and when I hit play, it goes back about 20sec. Kind of figured it out. I use speed 3, and I let it go a split sec past show and hit play. Close enough.

I don't even bother with speed 4. It fucks me EVERY time. But I know exactly what you mean about it going back 20 seconds....and then I'll try to fast forward those 20 seconds and wind up in the same situation over again. I'm getting irritated just thinking about it.

yea I hate that about the fast forward or rewind. When I had TIVO it worked alot smoother on that. But right now thats my only complaint.

I just switched back to Dish after having Fios. Thought about going with DirectTV, but Dish offered HD programming free for 6 months and a dual tuner HD-DVR plus the dual tuner SD-DVR for free. This basically gave me the same thing as Fios (Media pkg) but I can record more shows. Also, I really like the remote that has the 30 second skip function.

Dish Networks equipment is pretty cool, but I've found that their Standard Definition programming looks like shit compared to the other choices. Maybe it's just me.

I think DirecTV has the best programming though.

I have Verizon Fios and have no big complaints.

I don't know why people are bashing dish over football, I've yet to miss a Cowboy game. I get the NFL channel in HD, no telling how many ESPNs as well as all the other networks. There are at least 10 games on every Sunday and tons of college games during the rest of the week. I wish they had the VS network in HD though!!!
