Unions are great for actors and a necessary evil in Hollywood. This is a writers strike and the actors are actually suffering for this strike by the writers. But at the same time, I can see why they are striking. They just want a piece of the pie.

I can't believe people care. Some of the shit on TV is horrible.

"I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have." - Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

"There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo. Please use in that order." - Ed Howdershelt

I say do whatever it takes to get "Last Call with Carson Daly" off the air - even if that means that my man Colbert is a sacrificial lamb.

Other than the occasional weather forecast, and Glenn Beck, the tv is on for the dog to watch.

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are each a solid 18 minutes and 37 seconds of laughs. Family Guy has its moments, and the rest is shit.

more power to them... my buddy is a writer in hollywood. he doesn't a crap-ton, but whatever

but really? I could give two fucks about any of those shows... I'll watch Daily and Report when they're on, but I'll still surf during the commercials to look for something better. Family Guy is the only thing I won't change off of, but I think I'll survive if there was never a new episode

Today is not like the old days where tv was new and there really wasn't anything else to do in the evenings except to watch one of the 3 available channels. I believe that most people think that tv is mostly crap anyway, and watching it won't be missed much. IMO the writers are operating from a position of weakness, and it certainly would be possible to replace a lot of them with anonymous writers (to keep the union from blackballing them).
