Metalcore fans??

So, it's been awhile since I've been active and a few of you guys may remember me... Anyways, do we have any metal fans here? Killswitch, Diecast, Soilwork etc etc..... Any other bands you would recommend? I'm actually the frontman for a metal/metalcore band now and I'm looking for some shit to listen to for influences. My old bands have always been pretty mainstream and I just kind've moved out of that style...

Do a search. I've listed plenty of stuff.

Find a type of music you like and stick with it. Don't be like Papa Roach and jump from one dying scene to the next.

I've always been a metal fan... growing up in dallas and jumping from club to club. I ended up leaving my "hard rock" band to get into metal because it's something I enjoy more. It's more of a challenge and having a crowd jumpin and shaking down the place is a ton more of a rush than everyone just standing around. I'd say some of our bigger influences spawn from primarily guitar driven metal/metal core IE Chimaira (sp?) and stuff like that although I do a mix of clear vocals and screaming along the lines of Killswitch Engage and Soilwork. It's always hard to describe a band. We'll have our myspace finished up shortly and some pro-level recording done as well within the next few months.

Not my fault a new metalcore thread gets started a couple different times a week. Oh well, i'll keep posting em over and over, metal needs more support anyways. The more who listen the more new/better bands will start coming out.

I will, thanks! Yes, I was into that stuff as a kid. Beatles were for fags. I get tired of some of the new stuff because it goes on and on, no little honky-tonk riffs in the middle and stuff like that. I'm always trying to find newer stuff I can steer my kids into that gets them interested in the roots as well. Unfortunately the oldest does not appreciate Bob Dylan as the father of rap music.

Thanks for the responses guys. We're getting some recording done a little sooner than we expected to be able to afford it. As soon as it's up, there will be a link.
