Trade for a weatherby vanguard 300 mag

I have a friend that wants to trade my taurus 24/7 for his 300 weatherby. Looking for some input on the positives and the negatives on this. I know the 300 weatherby mags are expensive (2.00 a bullet) but what else? And should I make the trade?

One of the guys on the hunting lease traded an unused black Rem 870 shotgun for a Weatherby Vanguard in 270 with the nice Weatherby 2-tone stock and Weatherby scope. Very nice rifles.

300 Weatherby is pretty much overkill for hunting in Texas. It is nice elk, moose or brown bear gun.

Not sure the accuracy is good enough for a long shot, but 300 Weatherby is flatter shooting than a 300 RUM. 180gr or 200gr will be great for a long shot in a high ballistic coefficient bullet like Nosler Accubond or Ballistic Tip.
