Where is a good place to.....

sell your used guns at. I have only sold guns on a friend to friend basis so I am just wondering if there is a local place that gives fair prices or trades?

Thanks

You will always make more from them selling yourself Most shops around here give you between 50and 65% of market value to allow for both profit and wiggle room If it's something that will be a quick mover they are more likely to pay more something that will sit just the opposite ie don't take a deer rifle in February and expect much for it.

That being said there are a couple shops to go to and a couple to avoid

What are you trying to move and I can recommend where to take it

My wife inherited a very collectible rifle from her father and she decided to sell it. I started looking at selling it for her and could not find a local gun store that would give anywhere near what it was worth. I finally talked to a guy who had a licensed firearm dealer friend who was able to sell it for full price and only took a small commission.

I don't have the guys name or contact info anymore, this was about 5 years ago. If gun sales are anything like colector car prices, you may take a beating on the guns with the economy like it is. Good luck though.
