Optical help please

My new .308, just needs optics I really don't want to spend more than $400 because I'll won't be using it much. Tell me what you've had good luck with.

Is this for Hunting, Plinking, Target Shooting?

Go to SWFA.com and look at the Vortex line of scopes. I've been hearing very good reviews about them but have not tried them myself.

Nikon and Leupold should have some good offerings in your price rance as well..

Target and plinking, and occasional coyote. I would say was no more than 200 yards.

Oh, and in stock local would be a huge plus!

In that price range I would look at Bushnells line of Elite scopes or look for a used higher end model/brand.

My personal rule of thumb is that the optics should cost as much as the rifle. The opinions of others may vary.

Solid choice here, probably less than you spent on the gun, local, and in stock: http://www.samplelist.com/Nikon-25-1...MO-B-P854.aspx

Pretty screamin deal, only 2 left and probably wont last the weekend. And yes, they are local.
