Blurry EOTECH 512 due to LASIK?

Odd question: Has anybody had LASIK and use (or looked through) an EOTECH holographic sight?

I bought an EOTECH 512 for one of my AR-15s and seen that it was blurry. After playing with the settings and asking other people, I have come to the conclusion that it is just me. It is so blurry I can barely distinguish between the center reticle and the circle that goes around the reticle. It is also blurry (although not as bad) for my brother who has also had LASIK, but his eyes were not as bad as mine.

I might have to sell it and look into other options.

-Mike

How close is your eye to the sight?

Well I didn't mount it to the gun when I looked through it, so I was moving it around at different distances. What is the optimal distance?

Just checked it again at various distances and it doesn't matter. I wonder if a magnifier's optics would clear it up. Something like this:

I have a magnifier on mine. If you're ever in FW and want to look through it, let me know.

Thanks for the offer, but I am heading back to Afghanistan on Tuesday. I will just look through some soldier's setups to see what works for me.

Focus on what you are trying to shoot and not on the dot.

lasik screws up your macro vision. Makes things up close blurry.
