xd40 trigger upgrade

I hate the trigger pull on my xd40 subcompact, and I want to change it. I Timney sells a trigger kit that is about $150, and powder river sells a different trgger and sear. How hard are they to install? I assembled an AR lower myself so I pretty confident I can do it, but I kept seeing "Should be installed by a gunsmith" everywhere.

What do you recommened as trigger kit, and should I attempt it myself?

AR lowers are legos compared to most handgun lowers. I'd take it to a smith personally. Mostly because you need special tools on a lot of them.

How much have you shot your XD? My fullsize .45 smoothed out nicely, and once you learn to take up the pretravel, it was pretty easy to shoot well from the start.

Run 10,000 rounds through your XD (or any pistol), or do the Powder River Precision kit. There's a thread on XDTalk about installing the PRP kit. Lots of photos. If you've done an AR, you can do the PRP on an XD. I have one in my XD-40 subcompact. I've put in 4 of them already.

Shit I am only at 150... so I guess I will buy the Powder River Precision kit. I saw a video on youtube showing an install. Fairly easy

Just remember that gunsmiths usually take 3-6 months to do anything. And I mean anything.
