Went to the gun show strictly to look...

... turned the corner just before exiting and spotted this:

For the exchange he also gave me a scabbard for my M1917 bayonet. We were both happy.

There was only one other table that had four Socom models, but wasn't interested. Would rather stick with as traditional as I can...

HAH! How about that coincidence. I just walked in the door, I bought a black SOCOM II today from a guy that drove up from Houston. I got the SA case, SA cleaning kit, 3 20 round mags, 2 10 round mags and 900 rounds of ammo for a good price.

I like your wood stock, I'd like to have your exact gun but with the SS match grade barrel. I'll probably try to buy it next year.

Typically the M1As with plain service barrels can be had gently used for $1000-$1500 depending on what they are as there are quite a few varities. The Socom IIs are the tacticool rage of the moment and are usually $1500-1700 used from what I have seen. Best retail I could find on the Socom II was ~$1720, MSRP is something ridiculous like $2100.

Nice looking gun, man. My uncle has one and loves it. My dad also loves it. Haha

Al, yours looks mean! You should get a barrel shroud for that beast before it kills some innocent minority!

Junk, that's a fine gun. I'd like to know the accuracy at 500+ yards.

Alan, that would be a bad ass 300 yard and in gun. That short barrell is bad ass, but you are going to lose some accuracy and velocity because of it.

Typically I've seen them on GA ranging from 1100 to 1800. I paid 1600 for mine. It was allegedly owned prior, but never shot. I didn't see any evidence otherwise. Action, barrel and stock are in perfect/unremarkable condition.

Thanks. I looked for it in 10mm, but did not see any. WTF is up with that?

Thanks. I would too. Quantico has a 1000 yard range I'd like to take a crack at once I get a scope. Right now I'm gong to have to settle for 100yds...

If they were to chamber an M1A in 10mm, nobody would be able to shoot it because as soon as they touched it, they would explode. That's how awesome 10mm is.

Lol yea that thing is like something you would see on a paintball gun. The open sights are probably better.
