Shooting GTG?

Would anybody be interested in a shooting GTG on either the weekend of 9-10 or 23-24 of October? Anybody have any recommendations on where we can go? I just seen GhostTX post that Ralph’s is still closed.

I like it. Shooting a target is great, but dusting a moving clay is better for those of us with ADD...

Not sure how long you are talking, but I just bought my first rifle. Once I get it set up (scope mounted), I wouldn't mind seeing what it can do.

I was really hoping somebody would have some land we could shoot on.

There's been attempts at this before that never did come to fruition. Hopefully this time is different.

I'm in for a skeet shoot even though I'm not spectacular at taking out clay pigeons.

Sounds like it has everything we want. Have you been there? Their website doesn't have any pictures or anything.

FYI - they are closed on the 23-24 for a sniper tournament.

*EDIT* I wont be able to respond for a couple days. I am traveling from Afghanistan to the States.

I leave on Aerotech Sunday morning (today). I heard them make the announcement a couple days ago but they canceled. I also heard 1,200... but ehh... same-same.

You wouldn't by chance be in the 401st AMC compound with AC First and all the other contractors would you?

went to tacpro once. Wasn't impressed at all. They have a covered line at 100yds and one at 200yds, but only 6 or so lanes each. The 1000yd is covered, but only 4-6 lanes. Couple of problems with the long range though. You would be shooting over the 300-500 range, so nobody can be shooting 300+ in order to use the 1k. Other issue is you have to be certified to shoot 500+. One way to do that is take a 600dollar one day course, and you still have to have a membership thats in the 250/yr range.

I'm in on a gtg depending on time and place

93 Lightning t-trim @15psi a/a intercooled,Windsor sr heads, tfsr intake, 75mm tb,full fuel sys 72lb, Fast xfi, be trans controller,built E4OD 2800 stall,1-3/4 longtubes 3" exhuast Auburn pro 87 Lx coupe (in progress) 393 stroker coated pistons/bearings built 4r70w.

Thanks for the info and your input.

Maybe we should consider:
Garland Public Shooting Range‎
http://www.eaglepeakshootingrange.com/
2606 Pleasant Valley Rd, Garland, TX‎ - (972) 495-5330‎
Facilities: 50, 100 yard rifle range, 3, 7, 15, 25 yard pistol range.
Fees:
$10 Per Person.

It is cheap and looks like it has plenty of lanes, but they only have 100 yard on rifle. Check out their website. I wish Ralph's was open.

Thanks for your service. If you guys end up going to Garland, I'm in. Garland does only have 100 yard distance. I went there bout a month ago and it was full. It was not crowded, but I did have to wait to use my desired pistol range.

They have clay shooting there too.

Thanks for the kind words, but I am a civilian contractor.... not really the same as serving in the military.

I am driving to Atlanta this weekend to go to an American LeMans race; I will be back Monday and will look into this more when I get back.

I am down with the Garland range, but they do not allow FJM. All of my ammo (bulk) is in FJM. :-/

Also consider DFW Gun Range: http://www.dfwgun.com/

They accommodate groups AND allow full auto, but they do not have anything over 25 yards.

Every range is going to have a compromise somehow.

DFW gun range is a great range and is NFA friendly. Excellent pistol range, sub par rifle facility.
