Why I Need a Norinco

Because I wanted a picture of the shittiest .45 to go along with all the other 1911 threads; instead I have this.

First pictures are of the great side views

Next shot shows the area of the gun which captures french fry crumbs and dog hair.

This next awesome photo shows how meticulous this specimen is. Even has army gold to accent it.

I'm not quite sure I understand your satire.

Not getting your point. I bought a few Norincos when I first became aware of them in the early 90's and thought that they were great guns. What problems are you having?

Got it. I hate kimber with a passion. Bought one of their "finest" guns sometime ago and their "stainless steel" rusted to hell and back and wasn't even stainless. They have a habit of calling machined steel parts in white stainless steel because it looks that way when it is oiled. Their fit and finish also sucked. I could have bought 4 1/2 Taurus real stainless steel 1911s for what the Kimber cost.

If I wanted a Colt, I'd buy a Colt. If I wanted a Norinco, I'd buy one. If I wanted a Auto Ordnance, I'd buy an Auto Ordnance. Get my drift?

I think my next 1911 will be an STI.

You do know stainless means stainless, and not rustless, right? I'm just pointing out the obvious here, but you come off as (as many uninformed/uneducated people do) if stainless isn't supposed to rust. That is a myth. It's STAINLESS not RUSTLESS.

I know what stainless steel is; part of my degree is in metallurgy. Rust means that when I took it apart for the first time I found rust in the gun. It had never been fired before and had never been wet either. The barrel was very very tight in the bushing it was corroded so badly. A little gibbs got it unstuck but I was never happy with the gun and sold it asap. My Ed Brown on the other hand is worth what I paid for it.

The point that I was making is that they used steel in place of stainless steel when they claimed to use stainless.
