Any good old-fashion Army Navy surplus stores still around?

I used to love to go with my Dad looking at all the cool relics in Army Navy stores. Last time I was in one all they had was clothes. Any cool ones still around?

We have one in Waco that is pretty cool. I picked up a de-milled grenade for a couple of bucks that sits on my desk from there. They also have vietnam era flak vests for + or - $50. I am tempted to buy one and see if it will hold up to a 9mm and various other rounds.

We used to have one in Oak Cliff that I loved going to with my dad as a kid. Hadn't been to one to years... check that I took my nephew to one in Irving off of Irving Blvd called Porter's a couple of years ago. Bought a couple of "boonie" hats for me and him when we go camping and he bought a paint ball rig from them. I've seen another one in Carrollton off of I-35. Think there's another one in East Dallas but not sure if it's still there.

Just did a Google Map search and I see one off of 75 in Richardson. I remember seeing it now, think it's on the west side of the freeway. It's called Texas Army Navy. Never been there but I'll have to make a stop next time I'm in the area (and hit up Bone Daddy's).

They all suck these days. Most are bullshit camping stores.

The best one store wise is DJs aka Recon Militaria at Garland Rd and Peavy.

The Ft Worth Militaria show is Sept. 17-19 FYI

The last time I was at Porter's, it was a decent one.

Texas Army Navy in Richardson is now Tactical Gear Now, Inc. The last time I was in there, they didn't have any surplus stuff. Mostly flashlights, knives, clothing, and some holsters from what I remember. You can check out their online store to get a feel for what they have.

Its right off of Valley Mills near the Baylor Stadium. Kind of tucked away behind an HEB.

About a third of their wares are military stuff, the remaining two thirds is clothes and other random stuff.

This is and was a great surplus store. Col. Bubbie died a few years ago I think. He was quite a character. It's worth a visit if you are ever down that way.

Omaha on White Settlement Rd is a good one as well.

I know this store used to be cool back when we would ride our bikes up there.
Now it looks like an airsoft store.

Sam's Surplus in Stanton, TX, just east of Midland. http://samssurplus.com/

They have a Huey on a pole out front, jeeps / APCs / mobile rocket launchers and other mil trucks out back... bins of mil grade bolts/hardware that you can buy by the pound, etc.

Negative. It closed down. It's now a police/securtiy supply store. They sell mostly clothing.
