Springfield 40 cal X-D

Anyone have one? If so what is your opinion of it? A friend of mine is in need of some cash so I'm thinking about taking it off his hands.

I have the XDm40 and love it. Skidmark used to have the Xd and he liked it a lot.
Shoot him a pm if he doesn't chime in.

I have an XD 45 and I have put a lot of ammo through it. It's been rock solid, eats any kind of ammo and shoots well.

I really like the safety features with it also. I hoping I get a chance to take it to the range this week and try it out.

Same here. I love that gun. I've probably got around 2000 or more rounds through it. Totally dependable, and it's not picky on what ammo you feed it.

Friend has one and after a few rounds it would no longer toggle the firing pin block.

Who knew that the Croatians would ever fuck something up.

That beiing said, if you want a plastic gun I highly recommend H&K.

I'd like to, but AFAIK you can only get the .45 in a 4.5" bbl. I love my 3.8" on my .40

My every day carry gun is an XD40 sub compact. I've never had a single problem out of it. I wouldn't carry it everywhere I go if I was worried about anything going wrong with it.

I thought about picking up a Glock 20 (10 mm)................you know, for flavor.

I've owned 4 HK pistols, and I would like to know what you think the HK does better than a XD? I wanted to think HK was a superior gun and warranted the high ass price, but I never could find the reason for it being 900.00.

I have owned a XD 9mm for about 10 years now. I never really showed a lot of interest in the pistol, just sits around collects dust. Never had an issues, and does everything it's suppose to. Myself, I carry and use nothing but Glock pistols. I like the Glocks cause theyre cheap, and you can buy accessories pretty reasonable.

I had an XD40 and would still have it if I didnt step up to a 45 compact to carry. Great guns. I put a good 600 rounds through the .40 and probably 300 through the .45

Uh.... the XDs have only been imported to the US for 7 years... and I am assuming you have not lived in Croatia.

And I find the HK superior in many, many ways. External saftey, no bullshit grip safety, excellent barrels with polygonal rifling, proven and adopted by countless military and police forces, made in Germany (you know the Germans make good stuff... like hte shamwow), exclusive, and sexy as hell.

Comparing an XD or a glock is like comparing a toyota camry to a BMW 3 series. Sure, same shit and does what its intended... but the BMW sure is a hell of alot cooler. Also, this is my own opinion, so to many it does not mean dick.
