Sep 1st! Bird is the Word

Man, I am so ready for my hunting season to start. Dove kickin in on the 1st of September, and I might add that it kicks off my hog hunts as well. Sep 11th is early Teal followed by duck and deer.

Lost half our dove fields last year so we are looking for another lease. Found one in Krum that looks pretty good. Just my experance with dove in that area are gone fast. Loosing half our fields caught us by surprise so we are having to settle quickly.

Gonna go out next week and trap a few hogs for the freezer. Store bought ham is so nasty after eating wild hog.

Who's with me?

I'll be heading out to Trent for some dove hunting the 3rd and 4th of Sept. Friend of mine has an annual Dove hunt/fish fry that is always a must attend. Beer and shotguns...life is good.

So are you asking people to tag along and pitch in some funds? I may be interested in that. I've always wanted to go dove hunting.

I wish I had the plase to do that, but I dont. Sorry. And the present lease we are looking at is 75 bucks for day hunt. But I'll pass along any info I can to help you along if you are interested in hunting dove.

We hunted in Woodson last year. To be honest, I dont even know if the guy has a name for his property. A buddy of mine found this place in Krum and we went to look at it Tuesday evening. I believe its a little over 4k acres. I can get you some info on the place if youd like though.

I know man. Last year just about put us out of business. This year has been crazy busy, but its taken that to get caught back up.

The lease is 200 bucks for the season. Mostly milo, a little corn and some pastures.

Where is said lease, and what hunting will be made available?

I went out yesterday and sat in the rain. It was light enough birds were flying but nothing great. I shot 7 in the evening hunt.

Coolest part was that my first shot I dropped two birds, I've never done that before.
