I got that in my email yesterday also. Not a bad price but no bolt carrier group and charging handle. Take that $399 coupled with your $180 completed lowers and factor $150 for a BCG -= $730

Taken directly from the ad-

"Comes complete with charging handle, Mil Spec bolt and bolt carrier assembly, it is ready to pin to a complete lower assembly with no modification."

Looks like you coult get a $550 AR if you bargain hunted.

Matt looks like I got owned by my own reading comprehension.

$399 WITH BCG is a great deal then. How many are you buying?

That sale plus a LPK ($50-65) and stock kit ($60-up) makes it a no brainer over a Del-Ton.

Not sure, I might just buy one. The only thing holding me back is the "lightweight barrel"...

All my Del-Tons are the light weight barrel but then again they are for real no frills KISS rifles with their fixed carry handle uppers and iron sights. For the most part the rest of my builds will be a little nicer all the way up to a long range (for a .223) precission gun.

You can always buy more later.

I have a really nice Rock River Arms Predator Pursuit Upper on one of my ARs. That thing is heavy as hell.

I'm in agreement with you though, one of those would be nice for an all-around AR.

I'm about to take the boys to Hawiian Falls. I'll order one and a couple of Hogue overmolded AR pistol grips when I get back.

Mr. UPS just delivered the DPMS upper. It fits like a glove on the Spike's Tactical lowers that CJ put together.

That along with the BUIS that I bought from Patrick makes a complete rifle for $639!!

I'm about to head out to a hockey game, so pics will have to come tomorrow.

Ha! I'm not into all that tacticool bullshit.

Here's a pic of my AR collection. The only optics I have is on my Rock River Predator Pursuit Upper, and that is a Nikon Buckmaster scope.

Anyone notice anything odd about the second one from the bottom?

Haha, I know your not a tacticool kind of a guy.

But the AR, its a lefty?

But seriously, nice collection you have going. We need to go shooting sometime, but everytime I have an opportunity to run into you something has come up.

By the way, can a right handed shooter shoot a left handed AR and not get hit in the face with brass?

Yea, it's a Stag Arms lefty. I bought it for my oldest son, and I've never shot it. Hell, I guess the next time we go to the river I'll have to shoot it and find out.

I can tell you being/shooting left handed, and having a right hand DPMS AR -

I've never gotten hit in the face, but I have had a shell go in my shirt collar, and i've rested my arm back down on a hot shell too. (still have the scar on my arm.)

Just bought it...now a dumb question, I never really understood the difference between 5.56 and .223

This barrel states it is chambered for 5.56x45mm...can I shoot .223 through it?

I have a spikes lower that is 5.56 as well...

The 2 rounds have slightly different specs. If it is chambered 5.56mm then you can shoot .223 cal through it without any problems. The other way around could potentially be an issue depending on who made the upper. 5.56mm has been known to wear on uppers specifically chambered in .223.

They are basically interchangeable unless you have a match rifle.

I've shot both through my run-of-the-mill ARs for 20 years...

Appreciate the info. I was going to go SBR 10.5", but no Chief LEO will sign my ATF and I don't care enough to get a trust.

This is true, but I think it's more of a pressure issue than measurements.

http://www.thegunzone.com/556v223.html

Since this upper is chambered for 5.56mm, it is good to go for any variations.
