Who's going?

I'll be there as soon as it opens. Looking for a deal on a 1911.

What kind of 1911 are you looking for?
I had a guy offer to trade me a RIA Compact for my Shotgun. I was asking $450 for the shotgun, I would take $420 on the 1911.

Just a little.

BTW, I was out of the show by 10 with my purchase in hand. It's a Kimber Custom CDP II. Once I get it cleaned up I'll take a couple pics of it and get them posted.

Wish I would have seen this thread earlier. I would have asked you to look for some .327 for me.

Bachman had it for $1069.95 + tax. Sporting Arms has the Stainless TLE II for $934, but I figured it was worth paying a bit more for a better Kimber and be not have to wait for it to be ordered, etc.

It was alright at best. Started to pick up another kel tec pf9 for 250 but passed. Walked out spending a whooping 3 bucks on a nice but used leather zipper case for the 357 mag. Was hoping to see some archery equipment. One single bow and one pack of muzzy tips. I know...it's a gun show.

If you dont have to drive far, and have something specific in mind.
Model 1 , SAW, and Bachman was there.
It was the layout that made it bad. JAM packed in the middle of an ice rink and the upper floors were so damn dark you could not see shit.

She sure doesn't match what was posted in the "Kimber Sucks" thread. I put 150 rounds through her this evening without a hiccup. Time for a cleaning and I'll shoot her again in a couple weeks.

I wasn't really paying attention to the XDs, but I think the price on the Glocks could have been a little better.

The foyer level of this show was definitely in need of better lighting. I hope they will address this before the November show.

I'm not sure how the Allen event center is set up, but it could have the same sort of layout in 2 weeks.

I dropped by looking for an M1A but every one of them I saw had an outrageous price tag on it. Scout squad for $1500? Socom I for $1550? I burst out laughing a few times.

S&W from Sunnyvale had a decent deal I found, $457 for new in the box Saiga 12s. I picked one up.

Just from going to that show I have decided that I want one of the little Sig 5.56mm short rifles that is classified as a pistol. Sweet little piece of equipment.

The layout of the show was bunk, but the variety was good, and I found a few good deals. Nothing good enough to get my money though.

I really need to break down and get my drivers license transferred. I was conflicted between getting the dpms 308 for $860 and the basic 556 for $650. No TX license made not having to choose easier to deal with.

At least I was able to get some tacti-cool for the usp.

I was at a place in Plano a couple of weeks ago and saw a guy get turned down because he has a Missouri drivers license. I scratched my head for a bit on that one. I mean, with all of the databases they check when you apply to purchase a new weapon, you would think that they would be able to cross-check an out of state DL.

You can purchase a long gun anywhere in the US as long as you pass the NICS check. However, Texas residents can only purchase handguns in Texas or the bordering states. Texas also has a law that does not allow an out-of-stater, other than of those bordering states, to buy a handgun.

There have been pushes to get this changed, but it hasn't gone anywhere.

Maybe I have it mixed up. Maybe it's can only purchase long guns in bordering states and handguns only in Texas.

Any chance you picked up S&W-Sunnyvale's business card? I'd like to know what shows they're going to be at, and maybe pick up a Saiga for that price.
