CHL renewal question-- Denton/Lewisville/Keller

Looking for recommendations for a well-organized/instructed CHL course in the Denton county / North Fort Worth area.

I renewed the last time at the Quail Creek range -- hot classroom ---- but that's all I remember.

And how long is the renewal class these days VS the entire course? Thanks, guys.

If I remember correctly, the renewal class is about the same time as the first timers, only slightly shorter.

Red River Firearms in Sherman has a really nice facility, and excellent instructors. Probably the nicest indoor range I've shot at.

Pics of the "R" Code?

When I took my CHL class last year, the guys that were there for renewal only had maybe 4-5 hours of class time, if that. If I recall correctly.

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to kill them.

Thanks, guys. Keep the recommendations coming!

--- Yeah, the R-code was my former '71 Boss 351 mustang (pewter/black) that I sold in '06. Just have a '73 convert now with a 408c stroker.

You can see the boss on youtube -- I did a walk around when the car was idling. The preview picture shows the back of the car.

I pimped this car in the FW Rod & Custom and won high class points and got a small magazine notice out of it.

Lost all of my pics but here's one of the info board I made for the show.
It was a factory Ram Air car (with A/C) that had a dealer installed 351 HO. Ran good.

Nice! That is nearly the exact car I've got --- picked mine up in NM about three years ago (national MCA show winner / four-time magazine car / 100 rust free ram-air H-code.)

It was originally a brown/brown H-code car. Pretty basic. The previous owner was an MCA judge and reshot the car that same yellow color and passed it off as original. I knew when I bought it (Marti report) it was originally brown/brown and decided to convert the interior over to white/black. He added the ram air / ram air hood with original locks / rim-blow wheel / full console.

I'll post a few pix here later when I get home -- no access to my photobucket account at the moment.

Wow!
That sounds like it could possibly be my old car. It was first runner up at MCA Grand National comp. It had three mag articles when I had it. Does the title show any previous owners in Oregon? I sold it to a retired business owner who used it for parades and Shriner's events.

Does it have the HO in it, or did it before it was stroked?

David, just remembered I could upload pix on this site!

Definitely not the same car. This was a two-owner AZ/NM car -- always a brown/brown H-code -- no tach/gauges, either. The MCA judge I bought it from had her for 20 years.

Only problem is I sunk too much money in her when I tried to unlame her! (interior / 4v roller motor change).

Yeah, def not the same car. Mine had the deluxe interior with factory tach and a/c.

Kudos for changing that hideous brown color! lol
