Take it to Alpine, but be sure to buy a box of hollow point ammo. They won't let you shoot FMJ stuff.

Get on the 100 yard range and just get it on paper. Then dial it in from there.

There might be a 100 yard range closer to Richardson, maybe someone will chime in.

Just set up your scope and get it on paper. Then use your elevation/windage to dial it in.

On Target will let you shoot FMJ. They'll also set with a spotting scope and help you make adjustments.

dunno if they would hassle you or not since normally all I take out is my .22s and my 9mm pistol. But I do know I have seen folks shooting everything from deer rifles to ak's and ar's. As long as you don't do anything dumb and follow the rules they pretty much leave folks alone from what I have seen. Just make sure and pack the right ammo, HP for sure and maybe softnosed.

Would not go on a weekend though becuase its usually crazy crowded. When I go I like to get there when they open on a weekday.

They've checked me a couple times until I became a familiar face. Just load up with 25 FMJ and throw a little regular on top.

Alpine will bore sight you in to help get you on paper if you feel you'll waste that much ammo trying, or just don't want to deal with it. I think it's 20 or so? You'll have to make the adjustments from there...

I have heard people suggest to bring already loaded mags with the top 3 or 4 rounds being HP or other non-FMJ. Not saying this is a good idea, just something I have heard.

I have never had a problem, but I also haven't been to the ranges mentioned. Out here in east TX, they could care less what you are shooting, as long as you are being safe. And it is a hell of a lot cheaper compared to DFW ranges I've been to.

How far can you shoot out to at the ranges out east? I wouldn't mind driving 1 or 2 hours to go past 100YDS.

It depends on who is working and how busy they are.

I've never had an issue shooting FMJ there. I plan on making a trip out to the Garland range this Saturday (7/17 ~noon). If you can make it, I will help you sight your rifle in. I've been planning on going, its been too long. (even with it 95 degrees outside.)

PM if you think you may show up.
