S&W M&P 15 .223 at Academy for $749

Academy has a sell on all firearms right now and the M&P 15 is $949 with $100 off and an additional $100 rebate from S&W.

I've read some mixed opinions on these but they mostly seem to be from the "I knew a guy who's friend had one and it was crap" folks.

Does anyone here have extensive knowledge on these. The sell is on through Saturday.

No personal experience here but after a quick read (via the web) it looks to be a pretty decent gun.

Might not be a bad deal, so I would say jump on it before the sale is off.

I have seen nothing but good reviews. My buddy bought one about 6months ago, and we have taken it out twice now...put about 500-1000 rds through it. Functioned perfect, and build quality seemed to be really nice. I would get one in a heartbeat for that price.

Actually your price is off slightly, they are running 899 minus 75 for the academy rebate minus 100 for the mail in. Your out the door price will be 793.xx if my math was done correctly.

Well, I was at Academy in Arlington and the price on the rifle was $949 minus $100 from Academy plus the mail-in rebate from S&W.

I took my time checking it out. I only know what I observed.

I don't know Acadamey's policy on firearm pricing but I thought it was pretty universal however I have noticed that ammo prices differ from store to store.

What Academy did you see this at, because I'll head there tomorrow to check it out.

It seems like a good deal but I already have one Evil Black Rifle and I'm having a hard time justifying the purchase of a second.

Of course I didn't factor in the imminent Zombie Revolution.

I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 15x , and that is a good deal. Mine came with factory quad rails, and it is an excellent rifle. I would buy another if needed, and my only comparison is a hand-built DPMS and a factory RRA rifle. For my usage, they all perform equally and the M&P was my first AR-15 platform.

Get it - good deal - great gun.
