Market Hall Gun Show

Who all is going this weekend?

I'll be there Sunday, taking the little cousin with me so he can get a feel for different handguns.....he's looking for his first CCW!

I'll be checking out holsters, belts, mags, etc etc.

Ar15 shit out the ass. It should be renamed the Ar15 accesseries show Some good deals, and some high prices. Guess that is the norm

BTW, how reliable are those Eotech knockoffs that they sell?

That's pretty much what they've all become. I may go tomorrw just to salivate and dream.

Went today and picked up my machine gun from my dealer. All the neckbeards were staring me down.

That being said, saw some good deals on ammo.

I went Saturday. Picked up a Beretta M9A1. Been wanting one for a while. My girlfriend almost bought an M1 Garrand.

I went yesterday, took my little cousin with me.

We walked all over that damn gun show, one table at a time, checking out handguns.

We did end up getting him a decent deal on a pistol for his first CCW. Found a Taurus Millenium Pro .40 S&W for 249.95 +tax, slightly used. I checked the gun over, and talked the guy down to 220 +tax, and then told the cousin to pay for it. It was the gun he wanted to begin with, and a slightly used gun ain't a bad way to start out.

Also, bought some stuff called Safari Charlie's gun cleaning solution, the salesman demoed it on my Kimber, and it seemed pretty legit. I'm going to strip the gun down this evening and go over the entire gun. I'll report about that tomorrow.

Also picked up a Smith & Wesson M&P folding knife with window breaker. It's an assisted opening knife. Pretty damn nifty, that'll make the second S&W knife i've bought, I love those knives.

Also bought a few unit patches, such as Zombie Killers and Infidel Strong. Those'll be for gifts.

There was a crapload of AR stuff there, moreso than I've seen at previous shows. Also, I saw an ungodly amount of Saiga 12 shotguns for sale.

Alrighty, since I know everyone has been waiting breathlessly for my report on the Safari Charlie cleaner, here it goes.

It's legit. It cleans and lubricates, and with a little elbow grease, it takes up almost any amount of surface rust. I spent about 2 hours on my Kimber last night, and I have to say that this is probably the cleanest that this pistol has ever been since it was bought by the original owner. Feels like the slide is on rollers, it's so smooth.

Also, I decided to remove the grips and clean underneath them. I've never done that before, and I had no idea the amount of rust and crap that gets under there.

I realized as well how much a carry gun needs to be cared for moreso than a safe queen; I never realized how much me sweating on it all day at work can affect it.

I'm not saying the Safari Charlie is any better or worse than any other cleaner/lubricant combo out there, but I'm not feeling any buyers remorse. I may sit down with my dads old .308 tonight and work it over some.
