For real, probably going to start their own cult with the guns too.

I'm sure people are doing that already. Hell, if I lived in Austin I'd be tempted to go check it out.

So what does this church do with the firearms?

Do you think a criminal is going to turn in their firearm for a food coupon? So what's the point...

the church isn't putting it on.some organization is doing it and using the church grounds.

believe me i thought about standing inline or at least walking the line with cash in hand but im sure the police will be onscene and find some kind of "policy" to arrest me for since it wouldn't be against the law.

i have a 6.5 cocano that was ran over by a truck, maybe i should go stand inline with it and make a trade with someone else inline.just think if some old lady has an old colt 1911 and she's standing inline for a food card.

OMFG!

You should do this.

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to kill them.

We had an officer that tried this and he was dealt with severely and swiftly (not that I agree with it).

His stance was that it was not illegal to buy a gun off of someone, but the staff accused him of subverting the purpose of the gun buy back. He was transferred out of the cush position he was in and I don't know what else happened to him.

If they would discipline one of their own for this, you can just imagine what they would do to Joe Citizen.

WTH? So I can't make a legal transaction of a firearm just because the owner might be trading it in for a food box?

What he did wasn't against the law was it? When you are in the inside they can screw you, but to screw with the average joe they would need more, no?

I've thought of the scenario over and over, and I can't think of one violation of Federal, State, or local ordinance that would be violated.

Employees, on the other hand, can be disciplined at will.
