What Do You Guys Think Of These?

Looking for a Sub Compact Size pistol to carry. For some reason I can't get use to my XD .45 Compact. It's a little to bulky. I don't want to spend a lot either so I'm looking at a couple of the Taurus Pistols or maybe even a Beretta PX4 Storm. I want a 9mm.

http://www.taurususa.com/product-det...ategory=Pistol

http://www.taurususa.com/product-det...rumbseries=CC1

http://www.berettausa.com/products/p...f-sub-compact/

If there is anything else you guys would recommend then let me know. No Glocks though.

Of the three Taurus', my choice would be for the 709. That is a great sized pistol for all the time carry.

The M&P compact is an overall better pistol (IMO), but is more bulky.

I 2nd the M&P compact. I bought one at the gunshow a month ago and I really like it. Several grip sizes to choose from, and reliable as hell from all I've read.

I carry a sub-compact XD .40 all day, every day. I carry it with the mag extension, so it's the same size as a compact grip, but shorter barrel. Where I carry it, the size is perfect.

I got mine at Bullet Trap, and probably could have gotten it cheaper, but I'm very happy with it.

Glock 27...... but why do you say "No Glocks"?

If you want to go even smaller I'd suggest the Ruger LCP.

<-- thinks XDs are a knockoff of Glock.

It's obvious that SA was targeting Glock with the XD line. I don't know how people argue contrary to that and I'm an XD guy. They're great firearms in my opinion.

I would choose the 709 of the three. That PX4 Storm is like a brick. The smith M&P compact and ruger SR9 compact are nice as well.

Is that why Glock's Gen 4 is more XD-like?

LOL - I hate to break this to you, but have you not looked at Gen 1-3? They all look "kinda" the same....

Are we really going to turn this in to a XD vs. Glock thread? Both are great firearms.

It's just that the Xd is better...

Nope.

Glock > SA

I will say that the only thing that Sprinfield can do better than Glock is build a 1911....

I'm not a fan of Ruger's semiauto handguns, excluding their .22s. They feel cheap and bulky and uncomfortable. Their revolvers, on the other hand, are top notch.

I shot my friends Colt 1911 today & it felt really smooth. I've thought about a Kimber Ultra Carry in the past but have heard mixed opinions on them. I also like the Colt Defender too. Any you guys have any info on these 1911's?

The best shooting pistol I've ever held was a Colt Series 70 MkIV 1911 .45 that had minor work done do it.... My God it was awesome....

I stopped by a local gun shop today & took a look at the Taurus PT709 Slim & a Walter PPS .40. They both looked & felt very good in my hand. The guy showed me some type of Kel-Tec that was a little smaller than the PT709 Slim but for some reason it looked like a cheap gun.

That's exactly what Kel-Tec firearms are. I have two of the Kel-Tec P-3ATs and one has been decent but the other was defective from the factory. At this point I wouldn't recommend them to anyone though my wife loves hers and is pretty good with it. I feel much better carrying a wheel gun.

I should add that I'm pretty damn new to wheel guns however.

Kind of leaning towards the Walter PPS 9mm or 40. Anyone have any experience with these?
