Carry Question

Those of you that carry in your waistband, do you leave your holstered weapon in your waistband when you sit and drive in a vehicle?

Do any of you carry at 6 on your back and drive with your weapon in the small of your back or do you remove your weapon to drive?

Just curious I have carried in ALL POSITIONS AND CAN'T FIND A WAY TO COMFORTABLY CARRY WHEN DRIVING. Caps lock rulze!

I am also trying to lose weight and get skinnier as fast as I can. It seems the fatter I am the less comfortable carrying in my waistband is. Thanks for your feedback.

I've put on a few lbs lately and I hate carrying IWB now so I can appreciate what you're going through.

I pocket carry most of the time and I don't have an issue with that. At times I'll carry my XD-9 just for the heck of it and I carry OWB and it doesn't really bother me that much either.

I think the key is the holster. I, too, carry in the Supertuck. Driving, movies, where ever at 3:30-4 o'clock position.

I used to carry my Glock 29 IWB (3 o'clock) daily with a cheap Uncle Mike's, was kind of annoying at times but nothing major. Still doesn't bother me when I do carry it, but I prefer carrying a revolver in my pocket.

I carry all the time never have an issue if I'm seated or not. Make sure you have a good holster and buy your clothes a size bigger to accommodate the holster and gun and you should be fine.

Thanks for the info guys, sounds like my issue is with my holster. It's a Galco IWB with a Glock 26. Sounds like I should try moving towards 3 oclock and keep losing weight.

Several of you seem to like the crossbreed supertuck, I'll check it out.

Definitely for IWB! I buy my "carry" clothes a size bigger than what I normally wear.

Only issue(s) I have had are; a) carrying with the 10 rnd extended mag (prints too much) and, b) I carry at 5 IWB and have found that it's scarring my leather seats in my truck if I don't take it out, as well as rubbing bad spots in my shirts.

I have a digital camo Maxpedition purse for this very reason. Some of my trained contacts warned me about off body carry and recommended IWB or a shoulder holster.

I just call it a purse, why mince words when you're a hairy knuckle dragger?

I use it to carry my gear when I am out in the field and need tools. Great purchase, my first purse!

At first I was like "OK" but then I realized its for a purse.
Anyone know where I can get size 11 patent leather pumps?
Scary

Yeah I can't help but to feel a bit like a douchebag when carrying in my tactiCOOL man purse.
I must say it is very utilitarian and I love it at work.

God damn, I'm 5'9" 210 and I'm not exactly "fat"... You need to eat.

I don't carry IWB anymore, just too much of a pain in the ass to me... Either an LCP in my pocket or OWB high ride at 4oclock. (I take it out when driving)

Supertuck is the best IWB holster out there IMO. It is comfortable enough at 4 o'clock that I forget my Sig P6 is there most of the time.

And while most everyone recommends going up one size in the waist, all of my pants that I wore before I carried can accommodate the gun just fine, maybe my pants were too loose before?

Hell, I even carried this last weekend in a suit, with pants that are a little tight without the gun. Just had to suck in the gut a little when buttoning up

6'1 185lbs FWIW.

I'm 6'1", 255, but I hide it well. I carry a sub-compact XD .40 in a cheap Uncle Mike's IWB in the 12-1 o'clock position.

I don't take it out when riding in the car/motorcycle, going to the movies or dinner, etc.

Funny you mention that, I do that in shady areas if I'm out driving around for work.

One day I was working, I had an older black guy driving a newer Titan pickup next to me in traffic and keep looking over at me, then follow me into a Sonic and park next to me, so I had my gun unholstered ready for anything. I get out of my car with the gun tucked into my waistband but not in the holster and ask him if we had any kind of problems. This mother fucker proceeds to hit on me and I swear to God said, word for word, "I'm just a hungry man looking for something hard to lick on." At that point I turned and started walking away and told him that I was happily married.....to a woman. I was thinking "WTF just happened ?!" LOL !

That's a hell of a story. You must be handsome

I am still husky (6'1" 230lbs) and my gun still digs into me. I have decided to quit being a pussy and not think about it.

I'm probably not what one would consider "handsome". I have a shaved head, red goatee, and tattoos. I just thought it was really strange that an older, black man would try to hit on someone who looks like I do.
