TXDPS CHL Demographics 2009...we're armed

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/adminis...eportscy09.htm

So let's run some numbers ...

24,782,302 -- Texas population estimate, 2009
27.6% -- Persons under 18 years old, percent, 2008
(source: US Census Bureau)

That means about 17,942,386 over 18. 17,942,386 adults divided by 404,795 CHL holders means...

About 1 in 44 adult Texans has a CHL.

your math has to be wrong. not trying to be a hater.... it's just like logistically unlikely with the lack of years it has been in effect. You need to check your sources.....it doesn't even make sense.

79 K5 blazer, 6" lift 38x15" tires d44/12b lockers and chromoly axles ,6.2L GM diesel - Waste Vegetable Oil conversion - cross over steering,14"SAW nitrogen shocks, beefed shackles, shackle flip, winch/ bumpers, diff covers.

94 CBR 600 naked, handbraked, -1 +3 sprockets, one wheel operation mod

Numbers are all there, look 'em up:

You're welcome to dispute the math with your own math.

Does the number increase if I carry 2?

2.2% doesn't sound like too much. It just sounds like a higher number when put in those terms.

And out if those, how many actually carry? I know quite a few people that have their CHL and don't carry, or even own a pistol...

Doesn't seem like nearly enough, if you ask me.

That's true. I know two people, one of which I took the class with, that don't carry. Heck, not even in their car during trips.

What's the point of having it if you don't carry, or even own a pistol?

I have mine and rarely carry. But its because I'm always at work where I can't.
