cheaper than dirt.....

i know a lot of folks dont care for them, but man their shipping is fast! i placed an order for an ar-15 wrench, a rail, and a whatever the hell you call that thing you use to remove the original glacier guard on the upper. i got it next day. i figured it was a fluke. fast forward to yesterday, i ordered again, this time a scope, a vertical foregrip, and a laser (yes i know, tacticool) !! i'll be damned if it isnt currently on a fedex truck out for delivery. say what you will, but damn the order processing and shipping is quick. yes i know they are just in ft. worth.

please let the "tacticool" ass beating i so rightfully deserve begin..............

god bless.

Yes they ship fast if the stuff you ordered is at the Texas warehouse, but some of my orders have come in batches from the different warehouses.

They are gouging assholes, but ill be damned if their customer service and return policy isnt top notch.

They were high before the Obamanation got into office, but now they just have an excuse to rip people off. I went in there looking for my Sig a few years ago and couldn't believe their prices, I told the guy "damn dirt must be expensive".

If you all didn't know I got out of the oilfield and I'm working in their Content Dept. Yeah we deserve some of that flack... Hopefully, I can change or regain the trust of a small portion of people I deal with.... We are expanding the operation and making large scaled changes for the better. We are not associated with Outdoor Adventures, which is the gun store inside our building. Their prices may be different and do not reflect ours. Just order from the guys in the back counter if you're local.

You guys need anything let me know

Honestly, I buy from them online. It's quick fast and easier than driving all over DFW looking for something. Everything arrives on time, packaged well, and as for pricing you guys must be insane.

CTD's prices are far cheaper than any other gun store in the DFW area unless you get super lucky and find something you need at MGS (good luck). You want sticker shock, then walk your happy butt into Ray's. Ray's has it all...... and they have it all because they don't move squat with their pricing.

The only way you are going to beat CTDs prices is by going to a gun show and getting lucky. You can find overpriced stuff at gun shows too.

I'm looking for a buddy to split a case of Lake City 5.56 from CTD too. I want 500 rounds, not 1K. Anyone? Oh and try finding LC 5.56 steel core M855 for less.....

CTD has a lot of stuff I need. I've had some real bargains at CTD that I've never seen anywhere else. You just have to know what to get from CTD and what not to get.

One of them deals are those G3 mags for .97 cents a piece... If you have one of those G3 type rifles, you would need to pickup a good 20-30 of them.

Or the A-max tipped .223 BVAC ammo for 10.43 per box of 20, which I'ved used for hog/rabbit/racoon hunting. It rip them to shreads.

ammunitiontogo.com is in Bryan, Tx (or just outside) and their UPS ground shipping of 400 LakeCity 5.56 on stripper clips took just over a day and a half. I was very impressed with them and use them for all my ammo needs now.

Yeah, I was there today actually milling around looking at prices and was floored at ammo and gun prices, only to find in the print ad that sks magazines were 1/2 the price I paid for them a year ago...

BTW...for the guy who works there...tell all the little mexican ladies coming in the employee entrance door next to the main retail door to do a better job concealing the key code upon entry. I was making a few phone calls before pulling out of the parking spot and could EASILY see the code they were entering. Also liked the two security cameras at eye level that could be taken out with a nice set of wire cutters.....

Looking for sponsorships for 2010 on the car above... PM for details and schedule.

The ammo prices are pretty obscene for sure but that's they way it is at gun stores. Cabella's has decent pricing on ammo, though. As far as the price of guns goes, their prices are absurd as well. Though I did recently purchase a P-3AT from CTD that they're running a special on.

The retail store is under control of Outdoor Adventures and is by no means representing CTD. If you go to the back catalog sales counter and pick up a catalog, then you'll see that prices are cheaper.

On the code everyone has their own personal I.D. code for entry into the call center/web content dept. One of the reasons why I like working there is because over half the people that work there conceal carry. Everyone in my dept has their CCW permit, so I'm not worried. Not to mention everyday is like show & tell for someone thats got a gun project that they are working on. Today would have been a bad day for the bad guy because I had my LMT AR-15 with me. We were checking to see if that GG&G EOTech cover was worth a damn since I have the 557 model. We do a lot of product testing since we're going to be doing a lot more of instruction type videos you see on you tube.

I thought it was a bit high so I researched it for you. You could have got that mag for $6.58 shipped to El Paso going with SmartPost US Postal Service and $10.20 for Fed Ex Ground. It looks like you chose the Fed Ex Express Saver.

Here's the Estimate Shipping for the El Paso ZIP Code:

Here are your shipping options:

Ground Home Delivery (3-5 business days)
$10.20

Express Saver (3 business days)
$15.83

Express 2 Day (2 business days)
$17.27

Express Standard Overnight (1 business day)
$35.63

SmartPost US Postal Service (7-10 business days)
$6.58

If you order anything it would be cost effective to receive it through SmartPost US Postal Service or Fed Ex Ground. I hope this helps you guys out when ordering online.

Still, that's a 12 dollar mag that costs 50% of that to ship it.

How is that a bad reflection on CTD and not with Fed Ex or USPS? If he would have ordered several magazines, the price of shipping would have been distributed evenly to where it would have been in his favor. We all know this is true with mailorder in general. The more you buy the better the shipping rates are...

I was saying that I've found CTD's prices cheap, but their shipping is high. Especially if you only buy one thing that is fairly cheap. I mean seriously. I can ship a Saiga 12 ga 10 round mag cheaper than that

You haven't answered the question how does Fed Ex and the US Postal services shipping rates a direct reflection of CTD? Those are 2 different organizations that control the shipping portion not CTD. CTD does not profit from the shipping so how does that correlate to how you could ship a Saiga 12 gauge magazine cheaper? I don't know if its just me but do you hear what you are saying?

I can understand how you and Comp may feel because I purchased an ambi-safety for my H&K USP from Top Gun Supply. The part was the cheapest on the internet, but I paid 11 bucks for shipping for a part that weighed ounces not lbs. Sure I was mad about it, but does it reflect bad on Top Gun Supply, No it doesn't. I did receive the part faster than expected, and a letter head from the company, with a hand written signature thanking me for their business. I can live with that.

I recently purchased a Crossbreed Tuck holster, but you know I had to pay near $12 for shipping. Did I feel it cost too much to ship that holster, of course I did. It didn't change my views of Crossbreed as a company. To me the holster was worth every penny, that I purchased another one soon thereafter. And once again I paid the near $12 for shipping!

You know the USPS has a priority box that they could have mailed that part to you for a flat $5 rate. That to me reflects that companies inability to determine the best shipping methods to it's customer's. Not only would you have gotten it cheaper but faster. Just my $.02. I wouldn't put blame totally on the shipping company.

If that being said then Crossbreed and Top Gun Supply could have shipped their products to me for a $5 Flat Rate. So their inability to ship the best methods would be reflected negatively as well. If this is true then where does it stop because there are other companies that choose not to ship this method.

Interesting that you're getting so upset about this. Their fees for shipping is what keeps me from buying anything from CTD. They have great prices and if there was a store nearby I'd go, but when I can buy something MUCH larger from say, Walmart or Ebay and pay less in shipping it kind of makes me think that those prices don't reflect what they pay.

I am not upset but I understand how you feel about shipping. I am on your side about it. I have an issue about Cabela's Archery department, but it doesn't keep me from being a customer there.

Just offering a different perspective. Kinda hard to blame the shipping company when they offer cheaper shipping methods that the seller doesn't use/offer.

Exactly. CTD could go a LOT cheaper on things but chooses not to. And I honestly believe they pad those numbers to make cash because I can ship more for less all day long
