What's your favorite night stand gun?

I've got a little bit or a rotation that I work my way through when it comes to my nigh stand guns, and I'm currently on my S&W 357. I've also got a RIA 1911, a Springfield 1911, and an XD9 that can be found "on duty" on any given night. What do the rest of yous guys use/prefer?

Here is a pic of the top drawer in my nightstand:

I have mine loaded with a lead hollow point slug then 3" 000 buck. It is like that every other round for 6 total.

That bandoleer has those rounds plus door breaching rounds and a few birdshot.

Why would you need door breaching rounds? You planning on having to bust doors to get out of your own house?

It's ammo. For whatever. I like shooting just about everything with it.

I don't think a door, tree, sheetrock, brick or person would like to get hit with it.

I have a surefire L1 digital that sits on my nightstand with my shit. I am about to get my hands on an Insight M2 light for the USP compact (the only light made for it) and I have an Insight M3X that I need to buy the proper backplate for to mount on my P229R.

i dont have a light or laser on any of my guns for the simple fact that i know each and every square inch of my home, intruders do not. i dont think i should let them know where im at should they happen to want to break in, as i would know where they are at in my own home. but that's my logic behind me not having one

Night sights? Trijicons? I fail to see how knowing very inch of the house makes you align the gun on target.

Lights do not help you align the sights either. Lasers do..... Lights just let the bad guys know where you are.

Precisely, that's why I bought a Crimson Trace grip laser for my Glock 23. I do have, err had a couple maglites about my place to grab when I was ready to "verify that my assailant had been disabled," and to count the holes in the walls.

A light helps you identify that it is a bad guy and not a roommate, girlfriend, son/daughter, dad/mom, pet (I can keep going here), etc. And in a darkened room a laser is not exactly invisible either. If I had the need to be able to make a head shot in a hostage crisis I can probably see the advantage of a laser. I would have no problems shooting someone in the chest across a room once I've identified him as a bad guy with my weapon light
