Picked up an SKS over the weekend!

I found out Saturday morning that there was a gun show in Greenville, and having been left home alone by my wife I decided to go see what they had. It wasn't a very big show, mostly private collections for sale but there were two FFLs there. Anyway, one of the private sellers had a pretty nice SKS, and I had been wanting an SKS/AK type gun for a while so I took it home. I ran a few rounds through it on Saturday afternoon just to function check everything, and then I cleaned it up last night.

I can't find much regarding when it was made, but it appears to be an earlier model before they started stamping the receivers. If anyone thinks they can help with figuring out when it was made, I can get the serial # and factory # later today. I'll also post some pics when I get a chance to get the digital camera out.

It's rock solid and shoots straight, so I'm happy with the purchase!

I thought I put all this info in my first post, but I guess I didn't.

It's a Chinese SKS. The factory mark shows 366 inside the triangle. The serial number is 1,504,XXX and has a spike bayonette.

I paid $300 for it, which may have been a little too much, but it's a good looking rifle and I wanted it. All the numbers match (bolt carrier, receiver, and bottom of the mag), and there's no rust anywhere. It came with the cleaning rod and the cleaning kit in the butt-stock. Blueing is probably in the 90% range and the wood is in good shape too. It could stand to be refinished, but I'm going to shoot it for a while before I do anything to it.

Be interested in seeing pics too. Unable to find an SKS at BT for under 500. No details on any of them, just was looking the other week when I bought my shotgun.

My '03 Sold.
