My first hand gun...

I've had a couple of shotguns and a couple of rifles, but no handguns until now.

Nothing too special, but I am happy. Gun is in damn near mint condition, and came with 2 15rnd mags all for $360. Just thought I'd share.

Not too shabby. I've got the 23 (also .40 cal). Since it's your first, I'd run several rounds through it to get familiar with it. Glock is a great starter gun as well as the choice for many seasoned people. I love the way they break down for cleaning. Very simple, yet quality gun.

Thanks. Even though it's my first time owning, I've shot my brother in law's 22 quite a bit. Had this one about a week and have already run 200 rounds through it.

Scheduled to take my CHL class in a couple of weeks.

We just got a nice Taurus pt1911 in at work that I'm thinking about picking up as well.

The G22 was too big for me, so I've got the G23 as well. The G22 shoots just fine, but I had intentions of carrying the smaller G23. Well, before I moved to commiefornia anyway.

Sounds like a pretty good deal! Glocks are great guns, and .40 S&W is a good round. Also, if you decide to get a 23 or 27 (compact and sub-compact .40 S&W), your 22 mags will fit (there will be some sticking out the grip, but it'll still function).

Don't ever EVER shoot reloads through a stock Glock .40

I had one blow up in my hands in 1999. Luckily the gun took the force and blew apart and saved my hands.

It was simliar to this:

I shoot a crap-load of reloads. That sounds more like the round failing, rather the gun. Sounds like the Glock handled you OK.

If it's an older Glock, it might just be a matter of time before you have a KB.

The gun had a shit-ton of reloads shot through it, but I was shooting Winchester WB through it at the time. The chamber disintegrated, the frame cracked, the mag was shot out the bottom, and what was left of hte front of the chamber was bent up.

I called Glock and they accused me of shooting reloads (I had the damn box of WWB when I called) and wanted me to send the gun to Georgia. When they got it, they said there was nothing left of the chamber (No shit, that's what I told them), and therefore nothing left of the case to prove it was the reload's fault, or the gun's fault.

If it was a reload, they were gonna tell me to pound sand, but since it could not be determined, they offered me a new gun/case/mags for cost ($230). Since I was shooting a buddy's gun at the time, I had to replace it.

I wonder what their response would have been had you lost a few fingers?

So, basically, DON'T EVER SHOOT WWB THROUGH YOUR GLOCK.

Hell, it could have been all the reloads it ate weakening the chamber. We'll never know.

It's more likely Winchester double-charged that cartridge.

It could have been undercharged as well. An undercharged cartridge can have a pressure spike and exceed CUP.
