They also have the R-15 in 450 Bushmaster. I like this cartridge, from a reloading perspective, because of the straight wall case. Also the .452 caliber is more pistol bullet friendly, compared to the SOCOM at .458 caliber, is more of a rifle bullets.

To me, the 452 bullets handle the range the Bushmaster offers. About 200-250 yards.

Have you ever fired a 450 Marlin or a .458 Socom?

I'd rather just buy the AR-10 in .308 (It kicks less and a more capable cartridge).

I agree with Dacotua here, I am a big fan of sticking with common round weapons, 5.56, 7.62, 9mm .45 etc. Now if you have plenty .308s then having a .458 SOCOM would be pretty cool.

I'm really interested in the new .30RAR, but it won't last. For some reason, Remington never stands behind their propriatary cartridges. They've come out with some great ones, and what do they do? Chamber all their rifles in any and every cartridge ending in, "Winchester.". Buncha pussies. FWIW, the .260Rem is possibly the most well rounded 6.5mm factory cartridge ever, and they killed it.

Give me a dollar.

Marketing! you have to get the buyer to buy something new and repeat the process.

Remington is making some bold marketing statements.

"Packing the big-bore wallop to knock any North American big game animal off its feet,"

I always wanted to see a moose get knocked off his feet.

I lived in Alaska. Only thing that will knock a moose off its feet is a truck. A snowmobile won't do it.
