Carry recommendations?

I'm thinking about a Glock 27, but am open.

Also, any suggestions on holsters (brand, style, etc)?

I have a 686 and a ruger p95. I'm keeping the ruger with me, but the fullsize doesn't lend itself to hiding real well and my Uncle Mike's holster hangs low.

I like my CZ 2075 Rami

I find for me it works great. The CZ is a little bigger than the Glock 27, but shooting wise it felt much more comfortable.

I carry a Kahr Cw40. I like it, easily concealed, not too crazy about the sights though. I plan on getting those changes out.

The P40 was about $100 higher than the $379 I paid for mine, and apparently mine has gone up according to my gun-show-attending buddy. I would guess a p40 would still raise 400?

My carry recommendation would be whatever fits your hand well, is concealable, and you shoot well.

I know it's very general, but what I might recommend may not feel right to you.

I sold my G27 and bought a Witness compact .40; same size, fits same holster but is a bit heavier. The Glock did not fit my hand well even with the Pearce extension and I was bad about choking it, otherwise I really liked the Glock and had no problems with it. With no beavertail I got into the slide several times and that made me hesitate to shoot so I got rid of it. Love the Witness, also have a full size in .38 Super and am considering a 10mm conversion for it....

I just ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck holster, it will fit both my compact and full size Witness'. I have heard a lot of good about them. I carry the compact in a nylon inside waistband small of back holster now which works ok but is hard to tuck in a shirt and the full size is too hard to hide in it without a coat....

I'm out for Saturdays for the next 12 weeks due to school. But I'd like to blast one to see about it.

I'm torn on caliber vs quantity. A 9 will store more, but a .40/.45 will seal the deal faster.

Revolver.

I have carried every single day for several years now. The pro's of the revolver outweigh the cons.

My semi auto's have been dangerously unreliable lately. From mag release buttons being activated during concealment to the slide getting partially cocked during concealment. These are two deadly issues to have happen. Then there's the failure to feed and the failure to fire issues of semi-autos. I love and own semi-autos. A revolver is simply much more reliable for cc. Food for thought.

Whenever I carry my Glock 26 (9mm), I always have an extra mag with me.

I have been carrying my S&W 642 lately as it rides nicely in my pocket.

IMHO there are way too many sensible carry guns. I carry a Glock 19, but that because I had it already. Kimber, Kel-tec, S&W, Sig, Ruger...etc all have good weapons. Best bet is to try 'em out, hold them, shoot them...maybe look into holster options (I prefered sidearmor for the Glock), accessories and other people's opinions. Evaluate weight, size...etc

I know some folks buy 2-3 guns before getting right. Personally, I can't afford those kind of mistakes so I'd shop a good 3-4 weeks before finalizing my decision.

Since I started carrying and shooting more. I found 3-4 other hand guns I'd use for concealment any day. My Glock, I like it, some hate it, some love it. Just gotta figure it out for yourself.

My '03 Sold.

Sig 220 compact. .45 with 6+1, no safety, DAO, stainless over black frame. Just so happens I am thinking of selling mine. feels like a full size in your hand, carries like medium glock. 2 mags and have box/case....might even throw in 50 rounds with it.

It was a sig certified used gun I bought about 2 years ago and carried for a long time. Maybe put 75 rounds through it since I got it. Since I'm constantly on government property, I can't carry it anymore and since I already have several 220's....I'm thinking of unloading it.

Look it up on Gunbroker and see what they are going for and let me know if you are interested...I think they were in the $600 range a while back but it's been a while since I looked. I need tires for the race car!

Looking for sponsorships for 2010 on the car above... PM for details and schedule.

I still miss my m&p9c. I liked it a lot, shot very well in my big ass hands and never had a single reliability issue, concealed very well also. I kept it loaded with powerball. For a pocket gun I like my keltec p32, cheap, reliable and if you can't conceal it you have a problem.

haha. It's a Stinger from WW2 - one of these was involved in a medal of honor award on Iwo Jima. It's a ANM2 machine gun from a Dauntless dive bomber, marines would take them from downed aircraft, add a butt stock and sights from M1 Garand, and a bipod from a BAR. They have a rof of 1,200-1,400 (!)

I don't want to thread crap, so I'll make another post about them.

I use a full frame .45, I don't think I'll be of much assistance there. I think XD's are great. Kahr's are great as well if you can wrap your head around the price.

What kind of holster do you use to conceal a fullsize?
The holster that my OG Elvis posted is pretty sweet.
